Why Books for Beauties?

Women in book groups and women experiencing chemotherapy treatment in hospital centers connecting through sharing of books and the joy of reading.

Regardless of the effects of chemotherapy on a women's physical state, we are all beautiful inside and out, cover to cover.

Inspiration

Mary Louise's childhood friend Dede is living with stage 4 skin cancer.  Mary Louise and Dede grew up together in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio reading books and writing stories for each other.  

As Dede faces the rigors of living with cancer, her love of reading sustains her.  Dede's friend on Martha's Vineyard owns a book store.  She brings Dede books.  Dede reads them and shares them with Mary Louise.  

Why not expand upon this book sharing concept by connecting women in book groups with women in chemotherapy treatment centers.  Mary Louise started Books for Beauties in March 2011.
